Control Resonant spikes Remedy revenue by 226%

Control Resonant is Remedy Entertainment’s golden goose right now, having spiked their revenue by a whopping 226%, labeled a “defining milestone” for the developer.

According to quarterly reports (via Eurogamer), the September release brought in €39.6m in Q3, with the quarter eating up €0.6m in operating profits, which is a solid leap from the €16.4m operating profits it went through this time last year.

Control Resonant’s userbase was also notably US-based, with around half of PC and console players being in the US followed by Chinese-speaking regions and the UK. A majority of the audience was even new to the franchise, with the new audience also likely going back and trying out 2019’s Control, which also saw a surge in sales in the quarter.

Naturally, with Resonant’s success, their biggest goal is to “get Resonant into the hands of more players.”

In Smash Jump’s review, Contributor Dylan Shirley said: “As a studio that has persisted on the direction of an auteur to produce great narratives, having their best playing title be one without his involvement is a sign of incredible skill and only bodes well for the team going forward. In an industry that feels hostile toward innovation and fostering talent, it’s an achievement that shines all the brighter.”
