Before publisher Electronic Arts focused on the UFC as its combat sport sim, the company had the Fight Night franchise.
Fight Night was purely about boxing, and featured the latest and greatest names in the sport.

Fight Night Is Back, But We’re Cautious About It
Over on X (formerly Twitter), EA launched the EA Sports Fight Night account and announced: “The Fight Is Never Over.”
The last Fight Night game was released in 2011 on the Xbox 360, PS4 and even iOS, and was titled Fight Night Champion. Developed by EA Canada (now known as EA Vancouver), this entry makes a drastic change, as it’s a grittier take than its predecessors, that it even earned an M for mature rating.
Compared to past entries, Fight Night Champion didn’t have a cover athlete, and the game relied on a movie-inspired story mode that follows the career of fictional boxer Andre Bishop.
While the game was released to generally favorable reviews, it didn’t sell well enough for EA to consider a follow-up. Three years ago, a rumor that a new Fight Night was in development surfaced, but nothing came out of it.
As a boxing fan, I cannot wait to hear more about this new Fight Night game. That said, I am also very wary, since you just know EA will shoehorn its microtransactions into the game, which might sully the experience. But for now, I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt.
