Yesterday got a bit spicier when it came to gaming news, as a new rumor surfaced that Disney was in talks with two studios about developing Star Wars Battlefront 3.
The studios mentioned were Bungie (Destiny, Marathon) and DICE, the same studio that developed the last two Battlefront games for publisher Electronic Arts.

Bulkhead Interactive Founder Shares What He Knows About Battlefront 3
Over on X (formerly Twitter), Joe Brammer, the CEO of Bulkhead Interactive, the studio that developed first-person hit Wardogs, casually mentioned that based on what he’s heard, Respawn Entertainment and DICE are working on Star Wars Battlefront 3, and he’s unsure what this means for the Battlefield franchise.
If true, this would make a lot of sense. Respawn is no stranger to the Star Wars brand, as the studio is responsible for the Star Wars Jedi action-RPG series and is confirmed to be developing the third and concluding chapter in the franchise. Not only that, but Respawn is also familiar with the shooter genre, having worked on the Titanfall series and, of course, Apex Legends, which is still alive and kicking to this day.
While this is in no way a confirmation, Brammer’s stature in the games industry as a studio boss most likely means that he knows a fair amount more about what his peers are doing compared to non-industry folk. That said, this is still a rumor, and as such, shouldn’t be taken as fact.
If Disney does tap EA to develop Battlefront 3, DICE would be the logical choice to take lead, given the studio’s two Battlefront games did manage to not only be visually striking, but also a lot of fun. Given how DICE is now supported by multiple first-party studios in developing Battlefield, this should mean that the Swedish-based development house has enough staff to work on multiple AAA projects at once.
When it comes to Brammer’s game, Wardogs has experienced bumps in Season 2, which has prompted the dev team to consider releasing Season 3 much earlier than expected.
